WACKEN, Germany (CelebrityAccess) — Just weeks after more than 80,000 metal fans descended on the 2018 edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, organizers for the event announced that next year’s festival has already sold out.
“The weather was well-disposed towards us, the mood was brilliant and now the 30th Edition is on the horizon! How shall we put it? Looks like we are not the only ones that can’t wait to return to Wacken because: All 75.000 tickets for W:O:A 2019 are sold – the 30th Edition of Wacken Open Air is sold out,” organizers for the festival announced on the event’s web page.
“We are completely overwhelmed by your loyalty and your support which seems to be unbroken for almost 30 years now and there is nothing more to say than: Thanx for your support!”
The festival, which was founded in 1990, takes place annually in the German town of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein. Headliners for 2018 included Motörhead, Slayer, King Diamond, Megadeth, and Accept.
With tickets to the festival apparently a hot commodity, organizers warned fans of buying fake tickets from online services. In a post warning about “rip-offs and scams” organizers “strongly advised” fans from buying tickets from specific sites, including eBay, Viagogo, Laolaevents, Global-Tickets, Eventtickets24, and tickets75.
“This list could be continued for a long time, the pages mentioned are only examples. For the sake of simplicity, the following applies: Pages and providers that we do NOT explicitly name as trustworthy here on Wacken.com should not be considered for a purchase,” festival organizers said.
