What it's about

The Home Run Derby consisted of two sides with five players apiece. Current Boise State football team members will square off against former members.

In the opening round, each batter will have two minutes to take as many swings as they can. The two individuals with the most home runs on the current and former student-athlete rosters will advance to the finals, where each batter will hit the most home runs before getting to 10 outs.

An out will be classified as any batted ball that does not result in a home run.

The side with the most combined home runs in the final round will be deemed the team champion, and the batter with the most home runs will be declared the individual champion.

The Home Run Derby is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and the Summer Softball Classic is slated for 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for the general admission event and are on sale online and at the Memorial Stadium Box Office.

All gate revenue generated for the Summer Softball Classic will be distributed to the Horseshoe Collective, which raises awareness for local charitable causes by pairing them with community-minded Boise State student-athletes who wish to use their name, image, and likeness to make a positive impact in the Treasure Valley community.
