AUSTIN, TX (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Austin native Tim Neece has been selected as the General Manager of the new Austin City Limits at Moody Theater venue, which is set to open by the end of the year.

The new 2,750-capacity will be used for taping the Austin City Limits television program and live performances, which Neece will be responsible for overseeing.

Previously, Neece ran venues such as the Austin Music Hall, Backyard Live Oak Amphitheatre and La Zona Rosa from 1997 to 2001, and more recently served as the assistant director of talent buying at the Performing Arts Center at the University of Texas, where he oversaw programming for Bass Concert Hall and Hogg Memorial Auditorium. According to Austin Music Source 360, Neece will start in his new role at the ACL on July 1st.

While it had previously been announced that the the new ACL's co-owner Stratus Properties had reached an exclusive booking deal with Live Nation, it appears as if the venue will now remain independent.

"The big thing with hiring Tim is that it allows us to maintain our independence, while working with such promoters as Live Nation, AEG and C3," Beau Armstrong of Stratus told the Statesman. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
