Meyrink began acting as a child actor. Growing up in the industry, she mostly played offbeat teen girls in her movies and TV series. She appeared in many comedy films, including Valley Girl as “Suzi Brent” and The Outsiders as Cherry Valance’s best friend, “Marcia”.

However, her appearance in the 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds and the 1985 film Real Genius made her famous. Meyrink’s last known film is the 1988 film, Permanent Record.

In 1989, Meyrink gave up acting, stating she wanted more out of life than the profession was offering.
