Former tennis star Martina Hingis is under investigation for an alleged assault against her estranged husband in Switzerland.

Thibault Hutin – a French equestrian who married the five-time Grand Slam champion in December 2010 and then split from her in July after accusing Hingis of infidelity – claims Martina, her mother and her mother’s boyfriend were all in on the attack.

According to police spokesman Florian Grossmann, the incident took place on September 23 at Hutin’s home in Feusisberg.

It’s unclear what prompted the altercation, but Hutin says Hingis and her mother, Melanie Molitor, hit him in the face while Molitor’s boyfriend, Mario Widmer, slammed him with a DVD player.

Authorities are investigating the allegation and no time table has been set for their decision of whether or not to press charges.

Hingis, 33, came out of retirement this year to play doubles with Daniela Hantuchova at the U.S. Open and other tournaments.
