New York Giants faced the downtrodden colts in hopes of defeating them and clinching a playoff spot. Giants’ rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux made an impact in the game, but he raised some eyebrows for different reasons.
The rookie edge rusher was terrorizing the Colts quarterback Nick Foles the entire first half as he racked up four tackles, two sacks, and two tackles for loss against the dismantled Colts team. During his lone sack in the first half, his celebration raised some questions as he was seen celebrating right next to the Colts quarterback Nick Foles, who was visibly hurt.
During the last minute of the second quarter, Thibodeaux bolted past the Colts’ offensive line and sacked Nick Foles with a heavy hit. The rookie celebrated his fourth sack of the season by doing snow angels next to Foles, who was writhing in agony on the ground. Thibodeaux did not stop his celebration until a Colts’ medical staff came to check on Foles. The Colts QB was carted off the field and Sam Ehlinger filled in for him in the second half.
Thibodeaux later cleared that he was unaware that Nick Foles was injured in the play. But the celebration next to a hurt guy didn’t look good, and many NFL fans took notice of it and also shared some strong opinions about it.

NFL Fans on social media had some mixed reactions towards the Thibodeaux celebration next to a hurt player, mostly negative. The incident happened during the last minute of the second quarter in the Colts-Giants matchup in week 17 of the NFL regular season.
Along with the snow angel celebration on the MetLife Stadium’s turf, Thibodeaux was also caught by the sideline cameras doing a ‘put to sleep’ gesture which agitated the NFL fans even more.
The rookie defensive end has addressed the issue by saying that he was not aware of Foles’ injury while he was celebrating next to him. “When I did realize that he was hurt, that’s when we started getting up,” Thibodeaux said after the game. “When you’re doing a celebration, you’re not looking to see who’s doing what. But I hope he gets well and I hope he’s all right.”
The New York Football Giants ended up winning the game in a dominating fashion against the Indianapolis Colts and confirmed their spot in the NFC playoffs picture. They are headed to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
