BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Fire investigators are trying to determine what cause a fire at a downtown Boise brewhouse Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the Woodland Empire Ale Craft just before 1 p.m. When they arrived, they found fire just above the ceiling and below the roof.

To attack the fire, two ladder companies went to the roof of the structure and engine companies attacked the fire from below.

"Voids in these older buildings can create challenges," said Boise Fire Battalion Chief Aaron Hummel. "Fire can spread through these spaces very quickly which is why we're so aggressive in getting the area opened up and getting crews around it."

Despite the quick attack, the fire left a good size hole in a section of roof and ceiling.

No word yet on what caused the blaze or how much damage occurred. Woodland Empire has been open less than a month.

Stay tuned for details.
