ESPN got rid of so many people to hire this a**hole? Pat McAfee gets WHACKED on social med

Pat McAfee is generally admired and respected by all NFL athletes and sports broadcasters in general, however, this time the former kicker may have gone a bit overboard with his comments as he faces severe backlash over his tweet which took a subtle dig at the Michigan State Football teams new jerseys.

Pat McAfee is generally admired and respected by all NFL athletes and sports broadcasters in general, however, this time the former kicker may have gone a bit overboard with his comments as he faces severe backlash over his tweet which took a subtle dig at the Michigan State Football team’s new jerseys.

McAfee’s tweet called out Michigan State‘s new football uniforms, which are neon in color. He stated that Larry Nassar, the controversial and horrible sports medicine physician who is well known as an American child molester and r*pist, probably had something to do with designing them.

It took no time for Pat McAfee’s tweet to blow up for all the wrong reasons. Fans were enraged over his comment, as they could not believe he was making light of the uniforms by referencing Larry Nassar out of all people. The eyes are all focused wide on Pat McAfee this season as he recently signed an $85 million contract with ESPN for hosting the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN. While he does have a bizarre and casual way of addressing sports news, one that makes him extremely likable, he definitely did overplay his hand this time.

Some fans want ESPN to cut ties with Pat McAfee

While Pat McAfee did not see his tweets causing such a massive controversy, it is not all surprising either. Larry Nassar is one of the most hated individuals in all of America. He was convicted of multiple sexual assault charges and even of child po*nography during his tenure at Michigan State University and as the physician for the USA Gymnastics team. For nearly two decades, he continued his horrific actions.

I think Nassar was in on the design team actually

This was the tweet that started it all for Pat McAfee. Take a look at what fans had to say after his response.

A bit too late for that now.

The most predictable trait of the McAfee-Rogan-Travis-Portnoy dudebro types is their inevitable retreat to the lowest common denominators of misogyny and fear of self awareness.

This is disgusting Pat. I would take the L and run this one back. This is offensive to so many that tried to right a wrong and to the women that were hurt. This is not funny.

Damn I was a fan too 🤦🏽‍♂️ cmon Pat smh

This joke is not funny and also gross.@CollegeGameDay should cut you and bring back David Pollack. He’s not perfect but he is at least a decent and kind person.

This is the stuff that will get you fired from ESPN

— DetroitDen313 (@DetroitDen313) July 30, 2023

I feel like this 1) is a super dark joke 2) it’s not even funny dark? Like what’s the connection

Ooo a doctor raped all these girls and now we blame him for all bad things at MSU?

Like if it was say a football player who pulled his groin the. You could say “nassar did this”

Pat McAfee may have gotten this one terribly wrong. While dark jokes are usually more entertaining, there are just certain areas and individuals who you cannot joke about. Larry Nassar probably tops that list of individuals and the fact that the tweet is still up and there has been no apology from Pat is not helping his case either.
